SPSS Chairman & Co-Founder Norman Nie Joins CustomerSat Board of Directors

customer loyalty, today announced the addition of Dr. Norman
Nie, one of the world's foremost authorities in survey research
and analytical software, to its board of directors. Dr. Nie
was co-founder and long-time CEO and is now Chairman of SPSS
(NASDAQ: SPSS), the leading provider of analytical software
and systems near-universally recognized and used throughout
the marketing research community.

In addition to his roles at SPSS, Dr. Nie is co-founder and
Vice Chairman of Knowledge Networks, Inc., a provider of Internet-panel
consumer research. He also serves as Director of the Stanford
Institute for the Quantitative Study of Society (SIQSS), Research
Professor of Marketing in the Graduate School of Business,
and Professor (Research) of Political Science at Stanford
University . For thirty years, Dr. Nie was Senior Study Director
at the National Opinion Research Center and Professor of Political
Science at the University of Chicago , where he served two
terms as chairman of the department of Political Science.
He is co-author of Education and Democratic Citizenship
in America (1997) and The Changing American Voter
(1976), both of which won Woodrow Wilson Awards; Participation
in America (1972) which won the Gladys Kammaner Award.
He is also author of several other books and dozens of articles
in academic journals. He received his B.A. from Washington
University and a Ph.D. from Stanford University .
